Array ( [sid] => 71641 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => In Loving Memory [time] => 2004-11-15 18:38:53 [hometext] => This is dedicated to my friend Brendan Kaase, who unfortunatelly commited suicide, at age 15, and on my birthday :( [bodytext] => A year has passed since the day I saw you last, since your death tears have been cried, memories flood from the past. Today the day of my birth is the same day you left this earth, it's hard to celebrate and mourn, you are gone, did you know your worth? I await the day I will see you again, I'll give you a big hug and tears of joy will begin. It was funny how we met when I think back, jumping into the middle of your quarrel before you were about to attack. From that day on in the hall we'd stop and talk, you always knew when things were wrong and gave me a hug, to class we'd walk. You almost always had a big grin on your face, you had such a great heart, great personality, nothing too far from grace.

Dedicated to Brendan M. Kaase

Touching. Emotional. Great feeling.

I liked it. It had it's flaws, but hey, what doesn't. Sort of choppy, and you maybe shouldn't try so hard to make things rhyme. Really, some of the best works out there are free form. But I suppose whatever works best for you works best for you.

Really though, it was quite touching, and I am sorry for your loss and the loss of all those that loved him.

Hi Kericka!
My name is Cheryl - I'm Brendan's mom. I found your poem today. It means so much to me to read it. You write so beautifully!! I wanted to know if I could post it on Brendan's website (brendankaase.com). Please email me at mysonbrendan@hotmail.com if I can, and please sign your name to it if you'd like. You should be very proud of how well you write your poetry.

Love,
Cheryl
