Praying I will do this right.
I bring my hand up to my face and the scent of you still lingers there.
What is that sweet perfume you wear?
The scent reminds me of when I was a kid. I remember lying down in a field of flowers, the aroma so sweet I wanted to just lie in them all day.
We have been on only 3 dates and I already find myself craving time with you.
I think about your beautiful green eyes your soft hair, and the way you look at me when you answer the door.
Your smile travels from your lips to your eyes, and in them I see an honesty and purity that is very rare.
What started out as a possible new friendship has blossomed into feelings so soft and sweet that they make me weak in your presence.
The promise to myself not to touch you is becoming harder to keep.
I don’t want to rush you or scare you so I vow to go slow.
That’s why I am praying because alone I will fail.
The Lord is going to help me treat you with the uttermost care.
Trembling starts from deep inside, at thoughts of you someday saying yes, when I ask you to be my wife.
Imagining what it would be like to spend every day and night with you for the rest of our lives brings deep joy to my heart.
I could wake up and the first thing I would see is the deep green of your eyes looking at me.
To walk into the bathroom and see you in a tub of bubbles with your hair piled on top of your head.
This would be heaven on earth to me.

Good poem. Liked it. Such purity and longing.
