fighting the irony the moment never passing by
never facing the truth never knowing the pain inside

the laughter
the simple smile
the soft kisses kissing death

never wanting to know.

watching the mountains watching white grass grow slow
across a concrete sky snowing concrete lives growing
more life and more life and the children bleeding snow

bleeding curtains in the snow

and their hands
small hands calling small hands
stretching to the sea.

imagining a tree imagining first autumns glee
first autumns sight and laughter such lovely laughter
red and white fingers pressed fingers and fallen

across the open green
fallen red and yellow leaves
fallen leaves over rust and rain

she would color the rain.

there are words that i cannot complete
spaces i cannot fill
moments in time that i cannot change

i cannot change the sentence cannot
change the color of her hair cannot
change her face her fear her fingers
pressed against my lips

be quiet, and listen. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 161 [topic] => 39 [informant] => iodinelove [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )
