A couple hundred attend
Held within a magnificent house
A night of magic a true godsend

It is a party for just the children
And unfortunate families too
It grows in size every year
It is becoming quite a zoo

There are presents, food and so much more
Even Santa and his elves are there
Wide eyed children and parents
Learning lessons on how to share

This whole party is done by one
For others he always has time
I know for certain in my heart
He’d give away his last dime

My favorite time is story time
All the children gather by the tree
Everyone puts on their thinking caps
As we explore our creativity

The host he starts it all out
With only a line or two
The rest of the story is up to us
We become the writing crew

One year was set in the cold North Pole
A few times in scattered states
One year we rescued Rudolph
From a most horrendous fate

A night of magic a night of fun
When all the world’s trouble are set aside
A night when the true meaning of Christmas
Is brought to the front of the warm hearthside

So on the Saturday before Christmas
As you are sitting in your home
Think of all those kids and families
That are living parts of this poem

It looks as though we’ve reached the end
But there is one more thing I must say
I am a very fortunate child
Living with a true Santa each and every day
