I thought I no longer walked alone,
But no you left me at my headstone.
I stand above my open grave,
Staring at what I once used to crave.
Is death really what I wanted? Now I look down at what I was,
When I was completely at a loss.
The hate filled child I once was, is no longer,
I’m now young adult, I feel much stronger.

I sit an observe what I once used to be,
I find it hard to believe what my eyes are letting me see.
Almost throwing away something as precious as my life,
Always flirting with the blade of that knife.
Pushing away the ones I love,
With such a forceful emotional shove.
I never realised the potential I now hold
It is hard to believe I used to be so cold.

Realisation has taken time to make itself known,
Feels kind of like my milestone.
I found my light finally.
I feel more carefree….

YES! I related so much to this write. It's so hard to see ourselves as we are not what we think we are. Perception is most of it.
