Is this a dream or is it real?
Am I staring at you and this man?
Don't you dare take his hand...

How the hell did it come to this?
What in Gods name did I miss?
If you reached out, I didn't know you were there
Please, I really do care

I don't know what brought you here
Do you know that He is near?
He still loves you, no matter what you've done
And He's screaming that this is not the one

You took his hand today,
You decided to do this your own way
But this marriage is so fake,
Worse then the air on your 'wedding cake'

I remember the girl you used to be
The one full of smiles, so carefree
So sure that Dad would hand you off
But at his name you now scoff

If I cried today, they weren't tears of joy
Marriage is sacred and not a toy
He said his vows without looking in your eyes
This whole thing is built on lies

That two-cent ring he slipped on your hand
That thing you called your wedding band
Dishonors you more than you know
And hurts me more than I can show [comments] => 6 [counter] => 270 [topic] => 51 [informant] => yellow_sundragon [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Event )

a very heartfelt cringeworthy poem. I loved the
last two stanzas especially. I do hope there
marriage works out or she sees him for what
he really is.

This is so sad but it happens.
An abuser has to get the abused away from family to suceed in convincing them that no one else cares.
Unfortunatly it happens many times.
I will put her in my pryaers.
luv, huggs,
emy
awesome writing.

well, we've been over this... so you pretty much know my opinion and thoughts about it. i do believe someday she'll open her eyes, or she'll have them opened for her. i just hope by that day she still has the strength and means to get out, move on and someday find something real. because she truly deserves it. don't stress yourself over it. she needs to do this on her own. if and when she wants someone's help, she'll ask for it. just have faith.

love ya.

Awwww hun! You never know, it could actually work out and they could fall deeply in love if they're not now. Some people have to learn the hard way though, my brother did and is now divorced and my sister is still learning even when her husband is in some foreign place beginning with a C and she's carrying his baby. Every thing will work out in the end and your sister will always know you are there for her

*big hugs*

Very good, this one. The message is conveyed very powerfully and aptly. I'm sure this was a sad thing to watch happen, and I hope God brings these two around to a deeper understanding of, well, of lots of things. What goes on in their own hearts, for one.

Take care now.

Andrew
