After me and my mom had a fight
The air full of screams and insults, angry minds, hateful faces. Speaking the same language, yet unable to communicate. Impossible for her to hear me, what Im really saying. Words are flying, getting nowhere. Both mad, tired of trying. She has been here before, Is it that easy to forget? To forget the fighting and confusion, to forget the feelings involved everyday. She has been here, I just dont understand, Im tired of wanting to understand.

Great write. I can really relate. It's like most moms just can't understand anything their kids are saying. |

Eventually, you will come to realize that she understands much more than you think.
But as concerns the communication problem; you're both equally guilty.
Both parties are locked into their position and defending it to the max, while neither is listening to the other, and neither is making any attempt to see the other side of the question.
What you need is a third party objective arbitrator who can intervene and slow things down when the argument gets heated.
You both must strive to see the other's point of view, and perhaps a compromise solution may present itself.
A 'win' is not necessarily you getting it all your own way and verbally beating your mother into submission. A true win is when both sides come out of the dispute with their dignity intact and a compromise solution which each can live with.
Your poem manages to convey your frustration with the situation between you and your mom. Perhaps she is feeling equally frustrated?
Maybe you're both ready to negotiate an equitable solution now?
