[hometext] => This is a poem I recently wrote for a very specail woman, who loved me more than i ever knew, and whose love for her i didnt realize until she was gone. This one still hurts to read :(
[bodytext] => Love’s Last Breath By Jim Hellekson I was too ignorant to see it in the beginning, the love shared between you and I. Both of us had our demons, but your love was always there, who would have guessed that now I am by myself, alone, with all these tears left to cry. It hurts so much, seeing you with him, thinking about how cold I was to drive you away. How alone I feel in this world when love’s warmth fades, and coldness is the only friend whose company is willing to stay. How could I be so blind? I keep asking myself, as I fall to my knees trying to remember how to pray. How could I throw away something so perfect, so beautiful, and allow your heart to run astray. Watching the sunset tonight by myself, I though about how loved you used to make me feel. How your love endured for so long, even when another’s beauty I was willing to steal. The darkness you kept away for so long has returned, his burden grows heavier every day. Nights are growing shorter, the daylight no longer a welcome guest, just another reason to get up, before life is finally put to rest. I love you, I always will. And even though my heart breaks a little bit more when I see you in his arms, I know it is my fault for driving you away, but I just want to let you know that forever in my heart, my love for you will stay.
