Array ( [sid] => 74623 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => My Real Dad [time] => 2004-12-06 12:51:24 [hometext] => this poem is about my dad who never really loved me [bodytext] => I never really knew him
and I often wonder why?
Alot of times I sit around and just cry
Sometimes even wishing to die
He never understood me
and yet he never really tryed
And I often wonder why?

Why can't he just see who I really am?
All he tryed to do was give out the commands
The last time that I saw him was when he went away
Away to a prison,dark,mysterious,and grey
He was out of my life for 11yrs.
But he didnt even care
Isnt a daughter a special thing that you would wanna share?
He had the chance to come back
But you see he never took it
So now i'm left here all alone
Lost in a dark woody thickit
And often I wonder why he left
But you see he never told me
So now i'm left here waiting
For him to finally return to me [comments] => 3 [counter] => 156 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Flicker [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

I can really relate to this poem because my dad left me too when I was young and never came back. Granted yours went to prison and mine just left I know how you feel.
Just think of it this way: You might not of known him but if it weren't for him leaving you wouldn't be the person you are today.
Kepp up the good writes. I am here if you need to talk.

I can relate to this poem as well. My real father wasn't even there when i was born, he never wrote called or asked about me. He didn't go to jail though it was all his choice drugs were more important. Now that i'm 17 and can handle my own he wants to be a part of my life. I told him he was too late my step dad has been envolved in my life since i was 7 months old. As far as i'm concerned he IS my father.

This is an amazing write. It's filled with so much emotion. I'm sorry about what you've had to go through.
