But that part of me I now ignore
I look inside me but cannot find
The man who was sweet of the man who was kind
He must have died long ago
For I can't seem to make him show
All that's left within me now
Is the evil I once did not allow
It seems I have my self to blame
For wickedness I could not tame
It tainted me and broke my will
My better half it made me kill
I look to the heavens and ask them why
Why can't it leave, why can't it die
Its corruption surges through my veins
And gives me such tremendous pains
How did I ever end up this way
What made me go so far astray
It's always there inside my head
It will not stop until I'm dead
So now I'll make a solemn vow

Once I was good I used to be more

Few poems like this do so much with rhyme. It is a constant fight, but He who has begun a good work in you will see it completed.
