And it led them to a country that was afar.
Asylum this couple were out to seek,
A husband and wife who were mild and meek.
The countryside they travelled was bleak and wild
And the woman was heavily laden with child.
They came to an Inn “No room” they were told.
No pity for them left out in the cold.
A stable they found, both draughty and bare
And the woman gave birth amongst the animals there.
The star shone brightly in the sky above
And the parents gazed down, at their child, with love.
Then out the angel’s voices ring,
They sing the praises of this Heavenly king.
Shepherds and kings, with presents, arrive at the door,
They kneel before this baby, to worship and adore.
For the child born to the asylum seekers that day,
Was the Lord Jesus Christ to whom we now pray.

That night they followed a guiding star
