Array ( [sid] => 75319 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Tally Ho, No More [time] => 2004-12-11 14:28:57 [hometext] => Well I am A Brit. [bodytext] => D`ye ken Tony Blair what he did say?
There’ll no more hunting forever and a day
D`ye ken John Peel he’s glad he’s far away?
Without his hounds and horn in the morning.

Chorus
No sound of the horn to get me up today,
And the cry of the hounds, well they will no more bay,
And Peels view halloo, well never more they’ll say
And the fox can laugh on in the morning.

D`ye ken the hound whose voice was death?
Well the politicians with the fox kept faith
Do ye ken a fox as he’s drawing in his breath?
He’ll be killing all the chickens in the morning.
Chorus

I’ve lived in the countryside all of my life,
Have lived on the farm as daughter and as wife,
And I never thought a fox would cause such bloody strife,
As it wakes up grinning in the morning.
Chorus

D`ye ken Tony Blair did he take note?
That the four-legged animal does not have a vote,
So now we all the hunting ban can quote.
But there’ll be killing in Iraq in the morning.
Chorus

With apologies to John W. Graves

Yes, you would have to be a brit.
And I'm sure all would have known it.

Hehe, I enjoyed this. Never thought a scottsmen like him would get a song, but I come to my realization (yet again) that I indeed don't know everything. John Peel, a name that doesn't get dropped too many times around here, (Seattle, WA) Actually, not even at all, but love the pictures painted. Topic too british and political for my blood tho. (Well, I guess British and political are seldom apart aren't they?!?!) Well done anyways.
