Array ( [sid] => 7535 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => The Postman [time] => 2002-11-27 03:30:00 [hometext] => Re-post. Written initially for a single postman I knew in an attempt to cheer him up but I feel it can be a tribute to all the postmen and women out there who don't seem to get the credit they deserve! [bodytext] => Spare a thought or two today
for the postman who delivers each day
Think of the pain he has to endure
when he traps his hand in your front door
Chased down the path by your neighbours dog
leaping over their fence, just like a frog!
Think of the heavy load he carries each day
I wonder, how much does that weigh?
Imagine how many miles he covers
going from door to door with all those letters.
Yet somehow, he never quits
I guess he must really enjoy it!
He always smiles, never a frown
as he whistles a tune whilst walking down.
So next time you see him out and about
spare a smile for him, and try not to shout
as he steps in the bed of flowers
that you worked on so hard for hours and hours! [comments] => 2 [counter] => 233 [topic] => 38 [informant] => Debz [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 13 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Tributes )

Aww this is cute, my postman
walks all the streets to, i know
there are many who drive but
in the summer it's to hot to be
walking like that and carrying
all those letters. Thanks for
sharing this one maybe this
can inspire people to think
about the feelings of postmen
and women out there.
