When she noticed she turned her face away
I observed her through the reflection in the car window
I saw the tears she cried in silence
I'm not sure what they meant
I'm not sure she knew either
She just stared out into the darkness
As if making a silent plea with the night
I don't know what it was about
I know nothing of the reason behind the longing in her eyes
Longing that had all but burnt out to a pile of careless ashes
She didn't fidget or ever so much as sigh
Her breathing was shallow but steady
Her hands fell limp and resting on the seat
Her flesh seemed so colorless
Everything about her being seemed to scream out in lack of life
But she sat calmly, uncaring, lost in the nothing
I seem to remember a girl with a smile
A smile so bright it fooled the world
It got her through, it worked so well
So well only she and I knew it was fake
I seem to recall some light in those green eyes
But that light belonged to a different girl
In a different place, in a different time
A girl who thought she could defeat the odds and make a place for herself in the wolrd
A girl who had faith enough to at least hope her exsistence wasn't a mistake [comments] => 4 [counter] => 198 [topic] => 61 [informant] => girlg0newrong [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 7 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

I can relate to this. Just know your exsistence isn't a mistake. God loves you.
