My arms squeezing you into my apologetic heart in attempts to keep you and to fulfill an insatiable thirst from somewhere locked behind my chest

Curled at your feet in child's pose weeping, sobbing

Franticly grasping any way to reverse the wilting of a rose

Hurriedly racking my brain- my being to diffuse the symptoms of autumn and distill it's effects on the leaves

Desperately urghing the Phoenix of my heart to shed it's tears and heal your wounded spirits

Cry, Phoenix, cry
Prevent autumnal withering
Undo the rose's wilt
Give forth your tear and make bitter venom silky sweet

I'm clinging to you

My arms squeezing you into my apologetic heart in attempts to keep you and to fulfill an insatiable thirst from somewhere locked behind my chest

Curled at your feet in child's pose weeping, sobbing

You need to watch your spelling, Chels, but this is a marvel. Your deep understanding of bitter wounds and God's awesome healing is so vividly portrayed. This is the kind of gem I come to this site to read.

I love how your poems are just so abstract. The comparisons you used in this poem were all so different, yet their similarities is what made this poem well worth the read. Nicely done, my friend. Keep posting.
