Instantaneously inspiring me to write. I suppose I owe the inspiration in part to Stitch's 'Naivete.' A far cry from my writer's block*~ [bodytext] => The first snow of the year
Cascading, pristine, untouched
Upon the vast valley of wooded splendor
Your arms around me, so warm and so tender
My heart I surrender, it's bound in your clutch

But the snow doesn't stick
Melts almost quicker than it alights
The fragile innocence evanescing and it's gone
All that's left is cold, like listlessness left in the shadow of a yawn
And disappointment, frustration at ruining a treasure so slight

It's huge
A big deal

I'm aware and I'm earnest
I'm upset and sincere
Yet suppressed by some unknown force
My spirits oppressed by some kind of what? Fear?
I've given few grievances, hardly any protest
But...
Well...

So maybe you don't know
So I'm telling you now

I'm aware and I'm earnest
I'm upset and sincere
The snowfall was important
That first one of the year
And you need to know
That I cherish that snow
And it is a big deal...
It's huge
It upsets me
Now you help me to heal

You know, it's amazing how the snowfall aligns so well with other pristine situations in my life. I just want to remind everyone that most of my poetry has a double-meaning. This is most definitely one of them.

Lots of love and peace be with you,

Chelsea

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Chels! Way to work a metaphor, girl!

If this is what I think it is - you are absolutely, totally, completely right - it IS a huge big deal. And heck - even if it isn't what I'm thinking, you're probably still right. There just is nothing worse than acting like some important thing is no big deal. You know, they might not get it --- if they don't hon... keep saying this over and over and over until they do!

Wonderfully written, my Anita poo! Very, very seriously - I'm quite impressed with this piece, AND with the thinking behind it. Yeah you!

Big 'ole Whoddathunket hugs to you!

Being that this poem was quite sad, I thought it interesting that it was categorized under Angry Poetry. I guess you're like me in the sense that the things which makes us so irrate are also the things which cause the deepest depression. I hope that he/she/they realize what a big deal is and how it should be dealt with. Hopefully Sensitivity will break into your life and overwhelm you. I love you, Chelsea.

snow is an inspiring thing, i really enjoyed this write, though you
did a wonderful job indeed. it is wonderful how things like snow
can totally just "inspire" and break through a writer's block.

nice job
