I still remember the day you said good-bye
I was a little girl of six years old
He's not coming back i was told
I was torn between you and mum
You always had me under your thumb
I still remember how much it hurt
In heart wrenching tears i burst
You got married and moved on with your life
you stabbed me deep inside my heart with a knife
you have another family with her
She did everything and from us you did deter
Why couldn't you see my silent tears
Backed up with tormenting fears
I loved you dad with all my heart
But when you walked out the door that tore me apart
Now i've gone from that fragile girl you used to know
To a fine young lady i have grown
In my life i have learnt to cope
I'll conquer lifes high rising slopes
So move on with your life dear dad
Maybe i'll forgive you one day when i'm not mad
We have god to look after us
That heartache you caused me is in the past
My mother and brother's love is all that i need
My heart from you will no longer bleed..... [comments] => 7 [counter] => 157 [topic] => 31 [informant] => mina-1 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )

you can not live without pain until you've forgiven. Why not forgive and make up? Lifes to short to hold mistakes against people, especially family. You'd be a better person for it im sure. My heart goes out to you and your situation.

I like this alot and I can relate. Well I did for a while. Divorce and separted parents are a hard hard thing. After my mom's second divorce I just gave up caring for anyone. So yes, i have a "dad" but he doesn't love me and I don't really care for him. Also living without a dad is a hard thing to do. But you'll come out a stronger person.

great piece of work here indeed. my dad didn't leave me but was an abuser and this brings back to me the last days of his life. I was 15 & I forgave him so that he could die in peace. I'm a different person for it. everyone's situation & heart is different. beautiful feelings, wonderfully expressed.

is this a letter or poetry? I don't know whether to comment on your poetry or your life.. it is a poetry forum so I'll say I hate it when I see small case i(s) used when upper case should be used.. I won't remark on your personal life this isn't the place and it isn't any of my business.. my own life is a mess...

Well put in your rhyme . outside the poem, broken families are just that, and as said too many times, the kids get hurt as well..

Caps or small letters, hell even write it backwards, in any case, thanks for sharing
