Just like a frozen lake of ice,
The first few steps are terrifying,
But the next come easier with time.
Most of that time is spent gliding
Happily, smoothly,
But just as ice, love can be thin,
We sometimes break the tiny layer,
Fall into the desparaging depths,
The icy waters of fear that choke and strangle.
Have I hurt you?
Have I wronged you?
The fear is sickening.
I don't want to lose you,
Please, please forgive me.
Light begins to darken,
But then we're saved.
Who saved us?
Our love, ironically enough.
Pulled from the suffocating sorrow,
Wrapped in a warm blanket of love.
We are forgiven.
Why?
Because we are loved. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 177 [topic] => 2 [informant] => bugoron [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
