The day was mine
I used it well
A wonder, so the stories tell
A kiss so sweet
A yearning strong
Found hearts that knew it all along

You took my hand inside your own
A single star so brightly shone
I turned my face, my downcast eyes
To hide in shadows my surprise
And then you whispered in my ear
Three words I never dreamed I'd hear
...I love you

And if upon that quiet day
I hadn't let it be this way
My heart would be so empty now
I'd never know the why, or how
Of what it's like to be complete
And have a love that's so concrete
So now, the stories do recall
A love that conquered more than all
That no words can describe how true
And this, my love, I have for you [comments] => 5 [counter] => 183 [topic] => 2 [informant] => akaimeridia [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
