small lips form a smile;
their first.

And memories cease,
just for a bit,
let these tiny hands
forget the touch of tears.

`O hatred, please,
let this child be
as she stares in wonder
at her own eyes
softly staring back
within the mirror.

And pain, my dear,
be tender with her
as she grows.
Caress her gently,
lest she knows her
love is her smile
that cannot compare.

Life, leave her be!
Carry her softly over rock
and field; guide her away
from what only tragedy might see,
The love and purety
of my little girl. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 177 [topic] => 48 [informant] => iodinelove [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
