Array ( [sid] => 82050 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Only Cure [time] => 2005-01-29 21:23:47 [hometext] => I wrote this cuz I'm an idiot and went out and got myself a cold this afternoon... Please, comment, but leave out the idiot thing, kay? By the way, it might seem corny to some of you. [bodytext] => I've tried lozenges
And vapor rubs
And everything in between.
But nothing helps.

Decongestants don't do squat
And neither do those pills.
None of what I've taken
Has helped me out at all.

When I breathe, I wheeze
I cough
I sneeze
My feverish head is throbbing.

The medicine I really need,
Could never be prescription
What I REALLY need
Is of a much DIFFERENT description.

I've eaten oranges,
And taken pills,
But she alone,
Can cure my ills.

Only the taste of her lips
Can soothe my scratchy throat.
Only the sight of her
Can help my burning eyes

Only the smell of her perfume
Will unplug my clogging nostrils
Only the sound of her voice
Will stop my throbbing head.

I love her, and I need her,
I have but one quandry:
What could possibly be wrong
With a little TLC?

I don't want her to catch it
But she's my ONLY cure.
She's the cure for anything
That medicine was made for.

I need you, how I need you
To stay away from me.
I don't know if I could cure it
If it passed to you from me. [comments] => 12 [counter] => 260 [topic] => 38 [informant] => sir_odd87 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 24 [ratings] => 6 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Tributes )

You could try my oranges. They could do you some good, being organic and very tasty. Barring that, well... try not to pass on the magic. She might not enjoy it.

Ah, the impractical considerations of sick minds! (by that I mean colds and flus, don't get me wrong!). I know the feeling well.
Gotta admit I smiled. Not bad, in a quirky kind of way.

Get over that cold, now, hear?

Andrew
