As bloodshed spills onto woken land.
A swift of the axe, a slice of the throat,
White snow turned red.
So many cries of help, screams of pain fading away,
As quiet music suddenly begins to fill the air.
One by one they deterioate
Memories slipping, tears dripping.

The land is still and quiet, not a sound.
Bodies lay motionless.
Noone was there to cheer them on or pick them up,
As they fell with a thud.
Not God, not an angel was there to guide them.

That was how it went where people died for a cause.
But only few lived to tell the horrific tales.
In the end we hope for peace,
Where no blood is spilled,
And everyone is equal to each other.
But some realise that this is only a dream,
When they wake up and wonder why they are back where they started.
They know there will always be a war,
With so many deaths and so much sadness.

One day it will all change,
And on that day our dream will come true. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 196 [topic] => 14 [informant] => noone [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 27 [ratings] => 6 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DreamsandWishes )

moving, powerful write, ...unfortunatly some are more *equal* than others; if leaders had to do the battles -more would go to their homes, pity, hugs n' love nessa

I too hope that one day it will all change and our dreams will come trues. Great write. Great imagery about an all too real experience. Good work.
