The day when I'm no one
Where everything is a lovely shade of maroon

You think no one likes you
You think you're just like me
But you haven't been in my shoes

I don't mind being alone.
Having no one
but my tears.

You do something weird,
something no one else would do
And everyone likes you for it.

I did something weird,
something no one else would do
And everyone hates me for it.

You care what they think,
But you say you don't
but you must
cause you treat me like dust.

Until that special day passes
I'll hide behind the glass.

Until the maroon fades away
I will keep my silence

That special day is coming soon
The day when I'm no one
Where everything is a lovely shade of maroon

You think no one likes you

Pretty good write..You took the day and did very well with it..Course I am not fond of it any longer..I wrote 2 of these poems on Valentines last yr but cannot stand to go back and read them now..Good write.

There's no reason to do that.
some people jus find it harder to trust than others. I think 4 the first time in my life i think I know what trust is.
People get in all sortssa situations in life.
we all learn for our mistakes.

thx, I forgot to mention in the author's note that "you" is refering to many things, in some parts its refering to my friends, then a guy, but mainly my friend. Its kinda confusing, but thanks for the comments

oh, juss defending my poem, but this poem has nothing to do with trust or mistakes. And I guess in order to understand completely where I'm coming from, you kinda have to be in the situation. Besides you cant hide behind glass :D And the whole keeping my silence doesn't completely have to do with Valentine's Day, most of it deals with a loss of a relative couple weeks before Christmas. So, there's a lot more behind this poem than what meets the eye.

i liked wut u wrote here. I myself love the day, and enjoy spending time wit sum1 special during it, but ur poem hit me on so many different levels, most of which do not concern valentine's day at all. Your thoughts transferred well into writing, good work.
