Array ( [sid] => 82818 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => To Eternity [time] => 2005-02-03 14:38:41 [hometext] => Sometimes romantic places inspire romantic tales. This was one such occasion. For all the romantics in the world !! [bodytext] => I stopped at the corner, cast my eyes to the scene
Tables around the dancefloor, a simple circle of stone
The band played latin rythm, people swayed is if in trance
Intoxicated by the beat of drums, mesmerised by guitar
Melody catapulted, sailing high into the air

Sitting at my table, dry heat of a summer night
Cubra libre soothed my thirst while the music soothed my soul
I scanned far left and saw her, bathed in candlelight
Eyes closed tight, lost in private bliss
Jet black hair cascading, tumbling halfway down her back

Compelled, overcome, spirited to her feet
Enriched by the energy, the passion of the dance
In short red dress she was one with the melody
Twirling in time, like a spirit posessed
I watched, captivated, enveloped by her fire

As she moved a little closer she cast me a smile
Beckoned with her finger then blew me a kiss
Unsure I looked around, believed the look beyond me
Maybe to her lover in the shadows by the bar
Or just my imagination that she gestured at all

She leaned over my table, whispered in a foreign tongue
Took me by the hand and led me to the floor
Though the words we spoke were meaningless
The language of expressions, the sparkle in our eyes
A rhapsody that connected our souls in the night

As the minutes slipped, the candles waned
The rythm more gentle and slow
One last dance together, we held each other close
As the music died, true love was born
To dance from then to eternity [comments] => 6 [counter] => 179 [topic] => 2 [informant] => puppy_dog_eyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

Oh my Steve, you must be the man I used as a character in my poem on .. My "One Hour" write.

You are giving great details of that place where my character was reminiscing a past of a woman he fell in love with... I focused on her.. but your description in your write here is an actual place I was where I watched a lonely man... sitting.. I spoke with him and he told me the story years ago, which I put to poetry later on.

And hats off to you my dear writer.. you caught your lover.

I love your writing style.. this is a gem..
