Our ears are getting tired of this word,
No matter where we are, this word appears,
In class, in clinical, during test, at home, sleeping,
Who told me I would be gone for five years?
Wait a minute, it was supposed to be four years,
Well, I disappeared from my social life, from my own self,
The reading, the papers, the clinical, and the math

Then comes the big one, passing all the million tests,
Graduation comes but we are not done, there is more,
Passing the beast, NCLEX, the nursing board exam
If you pass, you call for celebration, if not……
You have to do it allover again stressed and betrayed,
Nursing school stress, let me tell you about it

Nursing School Stress

Confidence, confidence, confidence
Our ears are getting tired of this word,
No matter where we are, this word appears,
In class, in clinical, during test, at home, sleeping,
Who told me I would be gone for five years?

I've got serveral friends that can relate to this poem! They've all went thru it and one is going thru it now. It's not easy... I'm sure. My sister try it way back in he early '70's but switched to special ed. She couldn't hack it at ISU. It's more of a teacher's college anyway.

Good write. I've never been to nursing school but I can imagene how hard it is.
