In verse, in rhyme, in tone
But cannot for the life of me
Find a “voice” I own

In aiming for simplicity
My verse is short and blunt
Need have I to triumph fear
And plural syllables confront

And yea, when darkness overtakes
My ruminating mind
It corresponds with best ideas
I’ve searched all day to find

Then morning’s dawn reminds me
Of the sonnet s I’ve expressed
And I rush to write them down
I find….they’re all repressed.

*Sigh*

The title tugged at me, the verses drew me in. Well written.

You'd be surprised how unique you really are.

Well done, my friend.

Oh! that I could write like this and call it struggling!!!!

THIS is terrific. Your "voice" is here. It is difficult, in my opinion, to recognize one's own voice... but it grows louder in time, I think.

Keep writing,
SNM

Honestly Psyche, I felt like this was a joy to read because it *was* so well and honestly expressed. I especially liked the second line of the first stanza "In verse, in rhyme, in tone." Almost sounds like you've been in my class at school Nice job!

Wow this was an amazing poem. You could tell this couldn't have been easy, yet not too difficult with your creative mind and beautiful insight. Love it!
