Trying to Forget

I must love the pain,
I must love being let down,
I must love crying to myself,
I must love you.

I've ran away for you more than once,
and everytime I seem to run back,
it's a vicious cycle,
where I can't get rid of you.

I tell everyone I feel nothing,
I look at you and cry inside,
I know you know I care,
I try to lie to myself.

You walk back into my life,
every so often and all is good,
then I run you away because
I fear the pain.

I have no doubt you have given up,
I have tried to forget the way you make me feel,
I know this is one I will never win,
I can not lie well enough to myself.

I look into your eyes,
I hope for a sign you still care,
I hope you see my love for you,
I hope to be yours.

Love has spun me a web,
I have been fighting the web,
but you seem to spin the web stronger each time,
your hold on me is strong.

I give up and I can't fight,
I fall at the mercy of my feelings,
I will let it drown me,
smothering the life from me.
