This capsule scarred with a thousand fractures
is coming home to die with a crash,
do you think the stars are crying?

In your sleep, a thousand starfish
crawl thru the wreckage,
can you imagine them whispering?

A ghostly echo of your name
sets my spirit free to attempt the impossible,
but will you still hear me?

I'm coming home to rest my cloudy head
down upon the misty shores of your dreams...
do you hear me singing?

I stole songs from the glowing stars,
and symphonies from the deepest black holes...
did you hear me being chased by the screaming comets?

I'm almost there to sing them all to you...
to shower you in glittering stardust and silvery moonbeams...
can't you almost hear me at the door?

do you hear me falling,
feel me burning in your arms,
and breaking up
into a thousand pieces,
nine-hundred and nintey-nine pieces...
nine-hundred and ninety-eight...

the final splashdown commences...

swallowed by a thousand cold waves,
I will keep these love songs here forever,
I am here waiting for you to come to me,
I stole the secret day and hour of your arrival...
the hundreds of moons,
the number of revolutions around the sun...

do you hear me
counting down?

I can see why it won awards - its as strong a write as I've seen; compelling and visually irradiant.

I suppose I should start writing real poems again, in order to remind myself what I am.

Thanks for the inspirational kick in the ass, ghost.

On the Award ... congratulations !!! Well deserved ... I hope many more follow.

On the words ... I hung on every one, you twist a new direction every time your pen is put to page ... every time I think I know what you can or will do ... you prove me wrong. I love it.

On the art ... I tried to read just the words and not see the images there on the screen ... I couldn't. I believe they add substantially to an already fabulous piece.

Nazzy ~
