I waited as my pain did grow,
I hoped & prayed for you to come,
I wanted my hurt to turn into numb.

Every car that drove on by,
I realised it wasn’t you & it made me cry,
My love had gone vanished from my world,
I’ve been to wilt into a sad & lonely girl.

I had lost you; you were never to return,
I stand alone to feel the burn,
The unmistakeable burn of heartache,
I started to die & I started to break.

You were my one true love, my everything,
You took me under your soft, soft wing,
But I hurt you like no other ever had,
I made everything turn all sour & bad.

Now when I hold out my hand you’re not there,
So into the loneliness I do stare,
Death would be such a walk in the park,
As I would find peace alone in the dark.

Very nice. Why does a song come to mind? "I listen for your footsteps..." Such emotion there. Thanks for sharing.
