no need for cake or Ice cream,
No need to get a gift or two,
just thinking back at what my mother had to go through,
As you get to a certain age,
life seems to go in a stage,
to where you start to forget how old you are,
and don't care to celebrate it in a bar,
When you get older its just another day,
then you start to hope & pray,
that life wont pass you by,
and you go through the day with out a cry,
because your getting older & Wise,
really isn't to anyones surprise,
I think back on this day I came here,
and feel my mothers joyfull tears,
Because I know how special birthdays can be,
Because I have kids,I'll count them......Three!
When I celebrate their special day,
I thank the Lord in every way,
But as you get older the day just seems no fun,
Sometimes I feel I gained a ton,
and the wrinkles do really show,
and those candles you can't blow,
So you go on the day with a simple smile,
and celebrate it for just a while!

Christina, I have surely felt this way, and I have a few birthdays on you, but when you get through some of these, you'll find that life truly begins. I have relaxed and learned so much in the years since #37, and I wouldn't trade what I've got to be 20 again...well, LOL, not today anyway. I hope it is a great and memorable birthday for you.
