I sit here in my corner, hands crossed on my thighs,
I watch you pace the room, try to catch your eye,
Your gaze remains illusive, watching everything but me,
I stand and move toward you slowly, content that you won't see,
My fingers brush my neck as I unclasp the chain,
I remove the vial that is filled with all my pain,
The tears I've cried to make it through,
All the nights I've tried to get to you,
Holding out my hand, charm dangling from my fingers,
Silence is abrupt, no conversation lingers,
Your eyes are finally on me, your hands are finally still,
I'm offering you myself, take me if you will,
Your fingers brush the vial, tears well in your eyes,
Filled with the emotions, you try to disguise,
You bend to kiss my lips, previously forbidden,
I'm allowed to feel what you've kept so well hidden,
Opening your hand, you accept my pain,
A year's worth of my tears, hanging from a chain.
