I Can't Believe

My ears are so shocked,
I use them to repel the truth,
My mouth flaps open, closed,
I can't believe he had the couth.
And all of those you called your friends
Who turned around and betrayed,
I can't believe so many knew those facts
And yet kept them, their friendships frayed.
I think I need to be pinched,
To wake up from this sleep
This is a fruitless lullaby,
And I have gotten far too deep.
I'm sorry dear, about unhappy endings,
But I don't want to process these facts,
Can't I live in blissful ignorance?
Can't I sew my life back with tacks?
All those words of wisdom,
All those days of fun,
Ruined in one simple act,
And now I want to shun
How can I treat any of them the same,
When they hurt you so? I just want to throw,
Them all so far away from me,
More people I can't trust... How did I know?

It's hard to trust in anyone these days, it seems everyone is out to lie or is out to hurt someone and purposelly so many times, it's sad it really is.....and it's amazing how many friends one truly has when it's all over and done with....thanks for sharing this one i enjoyed reading it...Keep em' coming..
