[title] => The Most Precious Gift

[bodytext] => This year as I set out to find the most precious gift, I wandered from shop to shop my mind saying what if. As I looked at the brilliant gold, and remembered in the bible the story is told, how we would walk on the streets made of pure gold. Of course I thought as I stopped by the jewelry store, in which I saw the glisten beauty of Rubies, Emeralds, Diamonds and more. In heaven walls will be made of Sapphire, Topaz, Jasper, gates made from a single Pearl, Surly these will be the most precious gift in the whole world. As I left the crowds in the mall I heard the ring of a lone bell, as I walked toward it a single person was ringing it still. What are they doing what is the big thrill' what is the joy in standing outside freezing ringing a bell? Raising money to feed them, give them shelter, even a bed. So some poor soul can lay their head? I saw the voluntary fireman gone from his family for hours at a time, to help some family he doesn't even know to save their home. As I walked through town I saw voluntaries everywhere, Nurses, teachers, tutors, police, wherever my footsteps roam. So what is the most precious gift? The gift of time. The time we spend with an older person they need it. The time we spend with a child we will never regret it. Money can buy you Gold, Silver that will canker, and rust. Love is what buys you time; time is what you can trust.
