and i saw something i never expected to witness
it was fear in your eyes and it shook me and lifted
emotions inside that i swear never have drifted
it mighta been a stroke but not a stroke of luck
because you passed out, your blood count had run amok
and you were cherishing each and every breath you took
and were relishing the time left to spend and look
i will never forget the pause and grab of my arm
your hands a little shaky but your gaze was warm
you were putting me inside, a last glance to store
i woulda done the same thing if i had death at my door
and my mom tells me that your time travelin now
i'm scared to death for her, she must be freakin out
if you get the chance, try and put your arms around
her, cuz she needs it, she`s weepin, but holds it down
and that`s unhealthy, harboring gloom
knowing someone there for life is now headed for doom
and i can feel you about, cuz your presence, it looms
it`s the only light that`s shinin` in every room
