was so angered by what I'd seen.
Trash strewn all about,
under that tree I adore,
a beautiful hornbeam.

Nasty stinking cigarette butts,
littered all over the precious ground.
Their evil chemicals seeping out,
everytime the rain falls down.

The river here is now so polluted.
Stacks of car batteries in the water, I see.
Sadly a man and little boy,
fish for dinner further downstream.

It's such a shame folks don't seem to care.
They come out here to drink and party,
throwing their empty bottles down.
Now you fools, there's broken glass lying all around.

Don't think She is not watching you.
Don't think She does not know.
Mother Earth will pay you back.
Her vengeance She will show.

She may come at you when least expected,
with harsh winds and drowning rains.
For She is a woman of many spirits,
who feels so very much pain.

My Mother is crying. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 155 [topic] => 27 [informant] => deadheadpoet [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => NaturePoetry )
