I try to forget the past, but it comes to my thinking,
My weakness is that I care and listen too much,
I still try to forget, but my heart opens how I feel,

I sew my heart to forget, but the past still shows up,
My beef and my wound reminds me that the past is real,
How could I have easily been fooled by the sweet words?
I battle through my own thoughts, wanting to beat the past,

I channel through all the pain, but it won’t be easy to fix,
Empathy is my nature, so I agreed to offer my heart,
I opened my heart, letting myself drown on the faces around,
Damn me, how could I not have seen it coming?
How could I have been so stupid, so stupid to think?

I am making myself insane, wishing to forget the past,
I tear my heart open; I sew myself to forget the past,
I can’t help fix the past, but I can work not to repeat it again,
At least I can say I learned my lesson, yes I can,
Tonight I will sew my heart, to heal the wounds and move on,
