all who shine fade away and are buried
young men grow old and decay
endless love never seems to stay
our loved ones must die sometime
this light reflecting off of all of us
as bright as it may seem it will not last
its here so the future has a past
our present may seem hopeful
every passing second steals some life
pain is life, life is emotion, emotion is art
it must lead me somewhere...

another excellent write - i can really relate to what you're saying here. this is a really evocative poem - it gives us a lot to think about.

i love the line - 'pain is life, life is emotion, emotion is art', thats basically my philosophy on life. the last lines remind me of the song 'iris' by the goo goo dolls, one lyric is 'when you bleed just to know you're alive'. great poem, keep them coming, Kate xxx
