That I witnessed the beauty that could have been
In the tall grass, I lay soft and tame
Looking up, the clouds began to show their rain

As she approached, so tall and lean
Legs so long, a face that glows and gleams
She whispered in my ear, a voice unplain
She warned me to beware, the clouds showed rain

She crept beside me, down on one knee
Brushed back my hair, and made her plea
She told me she loved me, that’s why she came
She said we should hurry, the clouds show rain

Then she kissed me, and I believed
That she was an angel, sent to retrieve
She would take my heart, and cure my pain
But something went terribly wrong, the clouds show rain

My beauty in white, then grabbed my hand
We stood in the tall grass and made this plan
We would run to the ocean, from which we both came
We would have to run desperately, the clouds show rain

As we scaled foreboding mountain tops
Across valleys and through canyons, we would not be stopped
Through the vaccant forests of northern Maine
Darker and damper now, the clouds threatened their rain

As the oceans blueness captured my eyes
She turned to me, with much surprise
She told me that she loved me so
But this would be as far as she goes
A tear slowly rolled down her face
A horrific site, I refuse to erase

On a lonely mountain top, as my heart ferociously thumped
She kissed me one last time, and then she jumped
I screamed and cried, and called out her name
As the sun broke through, like a divine flame

Then with a loud and hurtful bang
The sky opened up -
The clouds released their rain
