all i can see is redness in my eyes
dried tears on my face
why can't i realize
it's me i can't erase

-when i look in the mirror-
with throbbing in my head
wish i could be made new
i want to believe what others have said
but can't. it's not true

-when i look at the mirror-
its broken pieces on the floor
i see my blood has fallen
by my body, by the door
and now the hate is forgotten [comments] => 4 [counter] => 233 [topic] => 61 [informant] => cherrycoke [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

umm .. ok .. just a quick question i have .. does no one understand this? or is it just that bad? because it's ok to state your opinion .. you don't always have to write "great write" or whatever .. use your constructive criticism .. please ..

ok fine .. the poem is about a girl (me) looking at her reflection in the mirror. she hates what she sees. her whole life people have told her she's beautiful and she "[wants] to believe what others have said but can't. it's not true." so out of frustration, she smashes the mirror, hence the broken pieces, and obviously cuts her self, which is where the "blood has fallen" part comes into play. and the result of cutting herself would be death, which is why i say, "and now the hate (of myself) is forgotten"

i hate spelling out the meaning of my poetry with details. i just wish there were some who could've pictured it in their heads and understood what i was saying. oh well .. it happens.
