I saw a dancer in the darkness
A silhouette 'neath moon's dim light
Her image casting faintest shadows
as if a ghost within the night
Nocturnal silence did abound
all still but for the gentle breeze
a haunting whisper to my ears
that spoke to me through barren trees

Her breath, a fog from winters chill
as stardust sparkled on her face
I watched in awe as she did twirl
in flowing gown of silk and lace
She calls to me and I am hers
a helpless captive to her charms
but reaching out to dare to hold
she vanishes within my arms

Ahhhhhhh and there it is.... another shining example of Larry's beautiful, romantic poetry!

This piece seems especially tender... the first stanza, of course, in particular. Tender enough... that I was pulled right in and then knocked right over by those last two lines. *sigh*

Pitter pattering,

How nice to see you back Larry. I have missed reading your poems.
You painted many beautiful images with your golden words. The picture was so lovely of your dancer in the dark. Music would have been fantastic to add the finishing touch. A sound like a musical box would have been sublime.

Love Angelxxxx

Bravo

sigh.
