Array ( [sid] => 8987 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => My Ocean of Memories [time] => 2002-12-21 03:40:00 [hometext] => I really like this one. It has a unique feel to it in my opinion. When I say unique, I mean unique in the sense that it doesn't share so much of a common thread with my other poems.

I wrote this one while inspired by the scenery where I grew up. I spent most of my life next to a beach, a severaly rocky one, but a beach nonetheless. I've spent countless hours throughout my life on this beach in Topsail, and even though I've since moved many times, I still find myself back there rekindling old flashes of imagination...staring out at the ocean. [bodytext] => Sifting through my rocky mind
I shake loose memory to transcend time
I climb each boulder, I search and find
A beach, each memory, each pebble mine

Each pebble tossed into my ocean
Disturbs its surface, changing forever
Bringing ripples and deep emotion
Each pebble tossed is for the better

Each memory tossed into my life
Disturbs its surface, changing forever
Bringing joy and with it strife
Memory washed ashore is past's lever

Each memory, a seashell
And I the creature within
I live my life through show and tell
Each memory thrown then sinks in [comments] => 1 [counter] => 160 [topic] => 21 [informant] => MoonfeverMuse [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Oh what beautiful visions you give in this poem, one of my dreams is to know what the ocean looks like...feels like, sounds like, tastes like, and smells like ...i want to know all these things...i've never seen the ocean in person....i've seen it in magazines and on tv.....and it's one of my dreams i will one day make come true....i thank you for giving such beautiful visions of this place you mention....Topsail sounds like a very pretty place.....
