Array ( [sid] => 90131 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Obligated [time] => 2005-04-06 16:10:52 [hometext] => I have little time to call my own;
others’ problems fill my day.
My problems will usually solve themselves,
but, theirs won't go away.
If not to me … where can they go,
And, who will hear their plea?
Who will remove the yoke of fear and doubt,
and, for a moment …set them free?
They tell me of the things they dread
that capture their every thought.
The common things that frighten them,
that, when younger … amounted to naught.
The ones with whom I spend my time
are the ones I’ll always owe,
because in my youth … (when I was lost)
they took me into tow.
They owed me nothing way back then,
(these shadows from my youth)
but, to them I owe my everything …
they introduced me to the truth.
In my middle years I’ve found my niche,
in my memories of the past.
By remembering those who remembered me;
thus, shall the circle last.
Today I can say to those I love,
“Come, let me set you free.
Let me handle part of your heavy load …
I remember when you helped me”!

Amazing isn't it that even when we are frail we still can be PILLARS for others to lean on and provide comfort for them.

This beautiful work, didactic in its nature, conjures up in the mind Simon of Cyrene helping Jesus with the heavy cross.
It happens often in life that .we just cannot repay those we owe the most, but what really matters is to assist to our best ability those that need it most and that are placed in our way...

This is an infinitely toching and sweet lamento of somebody that recognizes physical limits to our ability to assist, but remains nevertheless committed a PILLAR par excellence for those that are troubled and struggle hard, and. inspring them not to be afraid and not to doubt.

Exquisitely penned, revealing so much delicacy and concern towards the faltering and willingness to share their burdens..
Thank you John for sharing it with us

Ad Majorem Dei Gloria

Elizabeth
