Array ( [sid] => 90907 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Best Of Friends [time] => 2005-04-14 01:29:10 [hometext] => This poem is a concern for two friends who haven't spoken to each other in awhile. I hope they work everything out. [bodytext] => What has happened… my dear friends?
What has went wrong?
When did your two hearts stop getting along?
Are you casting shadows across the fields of your lives…
Waiting for the flowers of your friendship to die?

I have never had this fear before…
Because… there has never been a rift.
There has never been a rip or tear.
Between your two hearts…
‘Cause you have always been together…
Never apart.

Has feelings gotten trampled upon…
And hurt?
Has any words of anger been exchanged…
Or words that burnt?
Why have you suddenly grown apart?
What has occurred to break apart these two hearts?
Has the days of the summer of your friendship now passed?
Will your friendship be mended and last?

The answers I seek…
But do not know…
For only… it is in your hearts to seek and to know…
And let not a beautiful friendship draw to a close.
Do not become complete strangers over some trifle dispute.
But rather look at what you have right in front of you.
Each other… and each other you need…
You do not find friends everyday that easily.

Why should I care?
Why should I waste priceless time
Worrying about a friendship that is not mine?
Because I love you both…
And it grieves my heart to see friends just give up!

You’ve always been…
The best of friends.
Sharing with each other…
Your deepest… darkest secrets
And all your hopes and dreams and wishes for things to be.
Now… I find… you’re talking like this is the end.
Oh… how it grieves my heart to see such a thing happen…
To the best of friends.

Please find a way…
To not let it end…
But to sort it all out and still be…
The best of friends.

My love for you both has no end…
It is a bottomless pit.
It just goes on and on… forever… my friends.
I’ll keep you both close to my heart
And pray you find a way to not break apart.
But always be…
The best of friends. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 172 [topic] => 16 [informant] => kidpoet_213 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

Great job here!
