Array ( [sid] => 90947 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => I need to break free [time] => 2005-04-14 15:00:04 [hometext] => I just wrote this poem when I got home from school, and I hope you enjoy. [bodytext] => I have tired and tired,
To stay strong,
But everytime I do try,
I lose all hope,
I'm not like other people,
Everytime I rise,
I begin to fall,
And it hurts my heart,
Kills my inner soul,
Everyday I ask myself, "Why?",
Why can't I become like others,
You don't know how I feel,
And still you judge me once more,
The tears slowly come,
Falling down my face,
They begin to laugh at me,
But I try to stay strong,
You say that "words" won't hurt,
But it kills me to,
Sit here and let someone,
Try to take my pride away,
I'm trying to be strong,
Still you don't understand,
There's more to life than,
Just being here,
And so u still try to,
Test me so I,
Can hurt more inside,
Like I already am,
So I sit here crying and alone,
Saying to myself that,
I need to break free [comments] => 5 [counter] => 197 [topic] => 48 [informant] => luckycharm [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Hey. That was a great poem. I don't like ppl like that, those who judge. All I can suggest is to stay strong and just don't let the words get to you... shrug them off. You are special. Don't let anyone bring you down. If you have problems, you need to talk to a friend, b/c if the anger builds up inside you for too long, you get depressed. I know, i've been depressed before, and have been in the same boat as you have as well. I was made fun of when I wore glasses, cuz they looked ugly on me. Build up your pride and think positively about yourself... Think of the good things of life... don't keep your mind on the bad. Jenny

i admire your will to stay strog, i think thats an important charateristic in "breaking free". just so you know the only way you truly can break free is by accepting and loving yourself, trust me i know what im talking about even though it sounds advice thats given too often, but its true. its just something you have to learn by yourself, you can ask for help, but in the end its up to you, once you love yourself and Know that your are beautiful what they say, you begin to realize, is nothing but jelousy and lies, trying boost thier self esteem up by bringing down yours and you cant let them beacuase then that means they win, and your strength wont let them. be strong and keep writing, you did an excellent job.

You really connected with the reader *read me* with this piece. I know exactly where you are coming from with this as I have/are going through the very same situations in my life. it is almost as if I wrote this piece; i never expected that somebody is going through the same stuff I'm going through, and feeling the same way I feel about it too.

Everytime I rise,
I begin to fall,

this line meant alot to me- it's you trying to escape your situation, but in doing so, you find yourself even more lost and confused with what is going on around you.

Great write Pam.
See you around

Ash
