I think about it without
Sometimes I want to go back
Yet life is better, without a doubt

I dealt with pills, dealt with coke
Dealt with shrooms and with weed
I wanted them all, no joke
After a while I started to need

I had started not to be the same
If my drugs didn't get to me
I didn't even have any shame
I'd steal from almost anybody

What a different person I was
I didn't care about anyone
I was always breaking laws
Just to have some so called "fun"

I even now have true friends
They like me without my mask
With myself, I'm making mends
Even my poetry is an easier task

When I quit I got my life back
Dropped all my friends who wronged
I jumped right back on track
And my family got back their son

Here and there, I might have a lil' drink
But I can't let myself become sick
If I do then straight down I'll sink
For I am known as an addict [comments] => 3 [counter] => 301 [topic] => 66 [informant] => PoeticSpy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => drugabuse )

This is an emotional poem. I cangratulate you for quitting. Stay away from them and you will do big and great things with your life.

A brave write...inspiring to those who may be in need...

we sustain many scars on the battle fields of experiance..this is easy to see from your words.

adiction is just a label...you cant put a label on who you truly are....its just something to grow through...proud of ya ;)

well done,
much love,
blessings,
midnight x

I'm glad you got over your addiction. Very encouraging to those who really need it.
