That I realized the depth of your love,
When God sent me a child of my own,
I knew you were a blessing from above.
And looking back at my life,
I can’t help, but to see,
Had it not been for you, Mom,
My life would have turned out so differently.
You kissed away my boo boos,
You wiped away my tears,
You took the time to play with me,
You gave me happy childhood years.
You taught me to have morals,
You guided my teenage way,
You gave advice that I needed,
You led me to always pray.
You taught me that faithfulness to God,
Will always be returned back to me,
We went to church every time the door opened,
You encouraged me to believe and receive.
You had such a deep desire,
For your children to know the Lord,
That you were willing to face persecution,
To keep your little passengers on board.
I know this has definitely been,
The hardest year of your life,
You’ve gone through so many things,
You’ve faced great pain and strife.
So now, just let me say to you,
Sometimes we may not agree,
But have no doubts about my love,
No better Momma could you be.
It’s our turn now to pray for you,
And show how much we both care,
I will try to be a better daughter,
And for you, I’ll always be there.
