So much effort to contain
All the dark I try to hide
Only brings me further pain

The blood red rage wells up inside
Images of ruin and flame
Too much for me to try and hide
They beckon me and fan my shame

The green-eyed jealousy of your rejection
So many times I've wished you ill
Serves only to deepen my dejection
And choke me with a bitter pill

The spiralling black of my despair
The anomie in all the strife
Past the point where I would care
Forever marks this futile life.

“Kaleidoscope Of Emotions (the bad ones)” Is a fantastic assessment of the emotional roller coaster ride we all suffer within ourselves from time to time when dealing with out-of-control negative feelings. Your appraisal is a great guide to self knowledge about that which we’d rather not face up to. If you printed this piece as part of a book with a catchy title such as, Emotional Disorders For Dummies” you could make a million. Great job . . . Kudos!

John

Honest and refreshing Spike, if more people would just admit their faults, they would have a point where they could turn around and try to do more positive thinking etc.
This poem was very REAL, not counterfeit at all! I was held captive the whole reading right to the last line.
Thank you for sharing, and for commenting on my poem also.
I appreciate it.
Warm Love,
ConSue
