The day was worth getting up for I can assure you that for sure I had no clue when I woke up And headed straight out that tiny door
Keys in hand, I started the car I stopped at the local coffee bar My drug of choice, a promising morning A shot of caffeine to my heart so warming
The freeway was deserted up top I flew by four sleeping patrolling cops! A hundred miles an hour in my beat up ol Chevy Before I knew it, I was at her house already
I honked my horn, (chivalry is officially dead) I relied on my comb to save my precious hair Ive never felt as alone as the moment immediately before she arrived When I stared at her and she smiled a reply, my pulse was suddenly revived
Im sure you have asked it many times yourself But, Where has she been my entire life This was the pitiful unoriginal premonition I felt A favor for my pal, I was only there to give her a ride
As I stepped out to help her inside the car She pointed to a suitcase, would you be so kindl? She had wanted to leave, she didnt care where, any where far Take me to the nearest airport, and please don't waste time!
And as I began to wonder, if I should have stayed in bed late An angel thrust upon me, just to have me drop her off at heavens gate Suddenly as if divine, the traffic that deserted me, began to intertwine Stuck in the parking lot of the rush home, my angel and I began this song
After very little conversation, and even less talk We woulda held hands if we had some where to walk We fell in love on that Chevy ride worth taking Pledging our honesty or shamefully become forsaken
We reached the gate, checked her suitcase on the flight Donated the care to a homeless man, one too many sleepless nights Two Tickets for Two, we demanded so polite and sincere We were going anywhere, anywhere far from here

You could put this in the "story" category. It's very engaging and pulls the reader in. Nice job! |
