Array ( [sid] => 93759 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => No Longer Dreaming [time] => 2005-05-09 02:49:40 [hometext] => I constantly have dreams about my own funeral. I thought i might try and write about it to see if it would help. Please comment. Thank you [bodytext] => You wake up with sweaty palms and your out of breath
Sitting up you realize you just witnessed your very own death
You remember everything clearly
Tears from the ones that loved you so dearly

The distant music ringing in your ears
Finally you are forced to face your worse fear
Not once being able to say a word
Your silent screams are unheard
Tears never fall from your eyes
Then suddenly you realize
Nobody hears you
There is nothing you can do

As you lay in this box screaming silently to yourself
You know nobody can help
This is your final resting place
No sign of life or emotion shows upon your face
Your body just lies there
Frozen upon your face is just a blank stare

As everybody exits the room
You know this is your fate and you are doomed
You beg for them to stay
To help you on this dreadful day
Still nothing they walk away

You question if this is possible or even real
You want to cry but there is nothing to feel

The final lullaby drowns out your screams
You realize this nightmare is more than just a dream

Suddenly the lid closes
It's dark but you find comfort from the scent of the roses
Finally you give in
It's over you allowed death to win

An interesting read.
Some well expressed thoughts and congruent rhyme-scheme.
Well done!

Beautifully sad poem. Filled with such vivid imagenings. Something so horrid displayed almost inspirationally. Great write.

I really enjoyed this and can relate. I have dreamt of my funeral many times, and of my parents as well. Always so disturbing to think of...It may help you to know that psychologists say when you dream of your own death/funeral or that of someone close to you, it is your minds way of saying you want a closer relationship with that person (even yourself!) So, on that note, maybe you're at a major milestone right now and need to look deep inside your soul....Food for thought anyway...Good write. Scorp.
