Goodbye kind Caroline
Youve treated me well
Going to the Gold Coast
Leaving this shack behind
California on my mind
My back carrying the load
Im headed down this desolate
A road to the palm gardens
The golden gates I hope to find
Sweet California on my mind
A Westerly heading
No money or ratty car
Just my two legs beneath me
To no halt will I grind
California on my sleepy mind
Months have passed
Seasons changed
Pushin hard down the trail
My aching body unkind
California on my mind
The lights of the casinos
In this desert oasis
A plethora of pleasure
The people drank and dined
Yet still, California on my mind
And across the border
I had finally arrived
Only thing to do was enjoy the time
Now home again I sit back and recline
California in the back of my mind

I really liked this. It has been my dream to go to California, especially Sna Fransisco. I've always felt like it's calling me, like I need to go there to find what my heart is searching for.Anways, very nice write.
